Albania is a mountainous country, three quarters of the territory are made up by mountains. The Albanian Alps are a continuation of the Dinaric Alps. Characteristic villages, magnificent forests, valleys, waterfalls, hospitality by locals and other enriching elements will be part of our hikes in these national parks of northern Albania.
Arrival at “Mother Teresa” airport in Tirana. Pick-up upon your arrival by your guide and installation at the hotel.

In the evening, you will go to the Bllok, a former district formerly reserved for the communist nomenklatura and now the trendy district of the capital. An ideal place to go out for a drink and get to know each other against a background of modern and varied music!
Overnight in Tirana
Transfer Tirana / Kruja: 50 min
After breakfast, you will leave to visit the city of Kruja, known for its ethnographic museum dedicated to Skanderberg. This building, built by Enver Hoxha like a citadel of the time, will take you back to the Middle Ages time, in the heart of the battles led by the Ottoman Empire against the Albanian principalities.There you can find also some relics of the national hero of Albania.
Transfer Kruja / Shkoder: 1h30 minutes
Then you will head towards the city of Shkodra. The site of many Muslim, Catholic and Orthodox religious, this city is today the symbol of a deep harmony between religious beliefs.
The King's Mosque and the Catholic Cathedral (the largest in the Balkans) will also be part of your journey.
Overnight in Shkodra
Transfer Shkoder / Lake Koman: 1h45 minutes.
Ferry transfer: 2h
Departure by ferry to cross Koman Lake towards the Valbona Valley. This 2-hour crossing will offer you a first immersion in the wild and elusive nature of the North, similar to the Norwegian fjords! The Valbona Valley National Park, an 80 km² area , is located on the border between Montenegro and Kosovo and is the home for a large number of plants endemic to the region.

Average elevation = 800m.
After breakfast, you will start your hike in the mountains towards the sheepfold, which is located above 1800 m altitude. From the sheepfold you can admire the wonderful view of the Albanian Alps. Return to the village of Valbona where you will have some free time to visit the village and its surroundings.

This day will be an opportunity to take a beautiful hike in a postcard landscape. You will reach the small village of Theth via the Valbona pass. The transport of your luggage will be provided by mules that will accompany you all day.

Dénivelé moyen = 450m.
Le matin, vous partirez visiter les sites naturels et culturels du village de Theth, témoins de certaines traditions vieilles de plusieurs siècles. Vous pourrez également admirer le magnifique canyon des cascades de Shala, une source d'eau naturelle appelée « l'œil bleu turquoise ».

In the morning you will return to Tirana. You will get the opportunity to visit places that you did not have time to see at the beginning of the tour. Take advantages from the evening to drink something in the Bllok area and share a last moment of joy with other members of the group to remember your stay!

Yes, participants have the flexibility to explore Tirana independently on the last day. The guide can provide suggestions for places to visit, such as cultural sites or local attractions, allowing individuals to customize their experience based on personal interests.
